Created in jan 93, Dickybird is a trio from Le Havre ( North West of France) consisting of two boys, Stef and Jean-Francois, respectively playing bass and drums and a girl, Doris, playing guitar and lead vocals.

Two hundred and fifty concerts (in France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and USA with bands such as Fugazi, Girls against Boys, Les Thugs, L7...), a first 4 track CD & three albums later, the band has released its last ten track record in January 2004.

Dickybird's music is generally described as «noisy» by those who can't help sticking words to music styles, but the band would rather call it some kind of «unnamed anxious and powerful rock'n'roll», with an approach similar to the Jesus Lizard's or The Godfathers', yet constantly evolving. Music has no limits. Although Dickybird still remains a quite confidential movement because of a philosophy of independance and sometimes - often ? - a straighfforwardness that annoys the «normal» way of thinking music, its human and musical personality makes all the difference on stage. The band will release a selection of its music in january 2006 called ”A tribute to Ourselves” previously to the releasing of a 6th album in september 2006 .
